My first introduction to Steely Dan was some Senior guys at my High School back then, who were listening to Gaslighting Abbey while playing Tablesoccer. I was sold forever, such a unique sound. So i started checking out my fathers record collection and picked up Aja. Man, fell in love with that record from the moment it touched the CD player - one of the best Steve Gadd recordings ever!.
Then alot of classmates started listening to Steely Dan, i put Josie on at a party and everyone just seemed loving it! ( Many of them listened to Hip-Hop those days ). The music is so Timeless everyone just loves their cachy tunes.

One of my favourite spins in the "shed" right now is "Cousin Dupree" off TAN. Just makes you smile all over grooving along with it. A real lift at the end of a hard day.
The TAN DVD is worth having too. Would be even better if I could find an easy way to skip all the asinine crap between tunes (see it once, and that's enough). Ricky Lawson is a joy on that one.

Moostication...you got that right. I've been playing that Cousin Dupree alot. The one Vinnie does is simply sick.....personally I think it is very difficult to play
